Bulle City Center

Our contribution to the Bulle City Centre parallel study mandate aims to reveal and reactivate the city’s founding landscape structures in order to support its contemporary transformation.

The project builds on the historic ring of gardens surrounding the old town, reinterpreted as a continuous green framework linking the surrounding landscape to the heart of the historic centre. This vegetated network structures public spaces, supports biodiversity and enhances climatic comfort.

The requalification of the squares and the Grand-Rue is accompanied by traffic calming and the enhancement of active mobility. Wherever possible, surfaces are made permeable, planting pits are enlarged and tree alignments are reinforced in order to ensure the long-term vitality of the urban tree heritage.

Conceived as an evolving process, the project integrates transitional interventions that encourage residents to appropriate and inhabit public spaces. It outlines a sustainable vision for the city centre: greener, more vibrant, and deeply rooted in its living heritage.
